- College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources
- Storrs
Overview
The soil lab analyzes about 14,000 soil and plant samples annually, from homeowners to community gardeners to farmers. The goal is to provide environmentally sustainable fertilizer recommendations to minimize soil/water pollution and educate users on the best fertilizer practices. The lab manager teaches Master Gardeners in CT, MA, and RI about soils, assists with NRCS Envirothon, UConn NRCA, and CNLA Accreditation Program, plus other outreach like the Grow Your Way series offered by HR this year.
