This program is in collaboration with a graduate student who prepares an annotated bibliography on impacts of plastic debris on Long Island Sound animals. The research assistant will review relevant research based on observed or potential impacts from plastic pollution toa variety of phyla and species that could be expected to at least temporarily inhabit Long Island Sound or could beexpected to inhabit a similar niche from another geography. The peer reviewed papers should be reviewed forquality of methodology prior to inclusion in the annotated bibliography. A list of rejected papers should be includedas a separate document for reference with a brief description on the reasons for rejection. In addition, as some ofthese species are managed by different state and federal agencies therefore white papers and technical reports willbe necessary to include in the review as not all agency data enters the peer reviewed literature. The intent of thisproject is to collect a large portion of the current science and management activities looking at plastic pollutionimpacts categorized by type of impact and.
