- School of Social Work
- Hartford
As an awardee of the CT Health Horizons, this three-year higher education grant aims to address statewide nursing and behavioral health provider shortages. This MSW program option is designed to enhance the language proficiency of bilingual Spanish-speaking social work students to address Connecticut's workforce need to serve the mental health needs of children/adolescents and their families. The goal is to enhance students' linguistic and socio-cultural competencies to better understand, serve, and improve the lives of Latino/a/x families through four specialized courses taught in Spanish, along with field internships addressing the mental health needs of Spanish-speaking families. Students will receive a stipend of up to $2,500 each semester during their two-year program.
