The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation (MPTN) has identified key priorities, including a sovereign and secured food system, workforce development, Tribal youth engagement, and culture and language preservation as essential to the well-being and future of their community. The Federally Recognized Tribes Extension Project (FRTEP) is a collaborative effort between the University of Connecticut Extension and MPTN, building on the successful partnership initiated in 2017. Through the continued partnership with the University of Connecticut Extension, this project seeks to further MPTN's priorities, ensuring the growth and prosperity of the Tribe while honoring and preserving their rich cultural heritage.
