The "Open Wide for Veterans" program, supported by a $35,000 grant from the Delta Dental Foundation, aims to address the significant barriers veterans in Connecticut face in accessing essential dental care. Led by the UConn School of Dental Medicine, the initiative expands its reach through partnerships with 17 community sites, where UConn students, residents, and faculty collaborate as a care team to provide dental services. The program is deeply committed to service and volunteerism, offering veterans the support they need while providing valuable learning opportunities for dental professionals in training.
