Migrant Farm Worker Clinics

The UConn Migrant Farm Worker Clinic provides free medical care to the underserved and medically vulnerable migrant farm worker population in Connecticut. These workers, who come to the United States on work visas to assist with harvesting in apple orchards, tobacco farms, and horse farms, are often economically disadvantaged and without health insurance due to their temporary stay. In response to this need, the UConn School of Medicine, in collaboration with the Connecticut Area Health Education Centers Program, established the clinic to ensure that migrant workers receive essential healthcare services in the state. This initiative focuses on addressing the health disparities faced by this critical workforce.
