Civics, Democracy, and Political involvement

The Veterans History Project, a nationwide initiative of the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, collects, preserves, and shares the personal accounts of American war veterans. With over 137,244 veterans' stories archived, the project ensures that future generations can hear directly from veterans to better understand the realities of war. These stories of courage, honor, and service are vital to the narrative of the United States. At the University of Connecticut, we are dedicated to capturing, preserving, and promoting the living histories of all U.S. veterans, contributing to this important national effort. Explore these remarkable stories at loc.gov/vets.
